Why are we often attracted to people
who don’t show attraction back to us?
Who don’t give us everything we desire and need
from a relationship?
Is that human nature?
Or is that because our younger selves
were just praised too much
when we won things?
When people gave us attention?
When we achieved something challenging?
The truth is,
some things you shouldn’t have to win or achieve.
Some things we just deserve
and should come to us
and love us
simply because we exist.
