We Are Not Our Faces

Remember when we were kids

and we realized for the first time

that we were given a specific body

that we could not change?

Because of the genetic and ancestral circumstances

that created our bodies for us?

And how we will never be able to see our own faces?

Even when we look in the mirror,

it will always be backward.

We will never be able to see our own souls.

Remember how we were okay with that?

And how we accepted that the body we were given

wasn’t actually who we were

but just a coincidence?

And who we are is someone so much deeper

than our bodies?

Someone so indescribable.

And how we later learned

that we will be judged for our bodies

and not our souls

even though we didn’t choose them?

We must never forget

that the earth is a costume

for the energies that are underneath.

We should see people as their soul’s color,

their intentions,

their shine.

We should see the world

as if there was no world,

only light

and warmth.

As if we were kids again.

As if we didn’t have faces

that we wouldn’t ever want to see

even if we could.
