Each person’s inner light
should shine through them
like their skin is a bright window
made of glass.
Like they’re radiating their light out into the world.
But many times,
relfection gets mistaken for shine.
Sometimes we replace our glass skin
with mirrors
that only reflects
the light coming from others.
And the challenge with light
is that a reflection looks the same
as its source.
No one looking at the light from the outside
can tell the difference.
So the only way
each person can know
if they’re shining their true light
is if the person themself
can simply feel their light’s warmth within them.
If they can feel their fire burning.
