We are still the same
after a diagnosis.
We were sick before the diagnosis,
and we are still sick afterwards.
The only thing that is different
is that now our minds actually think we are “sick.”
We’ve put thoughts into our beings
about what that sickness means.
But we are still the same.
We can still choose to be ourselves,
to find joy,
to love our families,
because we are still the same.
The only difference is that now
we have a name for that new something in our earthly bodies,
that “sickness,”
we have within us.
And we will heal.
We will always heal.
Our bodies are temporary,
housing our souls on this earth.
And the mind’s goal
should be to make our bodies as healthy and ready as possible
to peacefully carry our souls through this temporary life
and to easily connect to ourselves
and to others.
So choose your thoughts.
A soul is never “sick,”
our earthly bodies just can’t do it on their own.
