Mornings (Dancing Bees)

Morning sun warms you up as the moon quiets itself from a night of teaching.

Lemon with yerba mate awaken the stomach.

Stretches slowly pull on the body.

Cats or children climb on you to wake you up.

The insects are hard at work finding their food

and doing their daily rituals,

and I want to blend in with them.

To be a part of their team.

A society of communal sharing, fidelity, trust, and dancing.

Did you know that bees dance?

They dance when they’ve found a beautiful flower to suck up

and even harder when the flowers are more exciting.

There are thousands of bees dancing right now.

Why don’t we dance for the flowers too?

Why don’t we celebrate every beautiful meal we make?

Every drink we sip?

Every adventure we find?

Every friend we fly with?

Why do I always see more bees in the morning?

The dew on the grass is shimmering like diamonds,

the birds haven’t hidden away in the bushes yet,

and the bees are off finding more things to dance about.
