Hold More Gems

A woman’s nightstand is sprinkled with many little colorful gemstones.

Did you know that each type of gem has only one individual type of molecule?

One singular structural makeup multiplied throughout its entire body?

How beautiful it is to see that when one molecule is multiplied over and over again,

not being disrupted or intercepted with anything else,

you get such beauty.

Such bold color and unique texture, straight from our earth.

And that’s without the hands of man.

Stones are nature’s purest form.

By just having one type of molecule,

crystals each have their own color, shape, and focused energy.

And we, like everything, are made up of molecules, too.

Moving all the time.

And every night, this woman asks herself:

Which stone would help me heal from the day?

Which series of molecules would give me the energy that I need?

What do I even need in the first place?

Slowness? Patience? Courage? Intuition?

A lot of us don’t ask ourselves these questions enough.

Stones can remind us what we need.

They can help us focus our minds.

They help make things simple.

Many don’t believe in the validity of crystals

and claim they only provide a placebo effect.

And I ask them how often they ask themselves what they’re feeling,

just as the woman does?

Or even get asked that very question?

How often do they give themselves what they need?

Or even know what they really need?

Crystals may not “do” anything in our eyes,

but that is exactly why this planet made them.

What if we stopped trying to be like plastic-

so artificial, a combination of engineered, even hazardous substances-

and tried to be more like crystals?

What would happen if we held more gemstones?
