Colors Within Us

Our worlds are full of colors inside of us.

Purple, pink, blue, and light yellow,

all floating around

and fading into each other.

Our souls are full of vibrant, colorful clouds.

Their emotions are strong

yet always calm.

There are pink clouds

of love and warmth.

There are blue clouds

of logic and rationality.

But sometimes, the mind produces dark clouds

that deepen into the cracks in our bodies

and cover the spectrum of colors

that we house within ourselves.

The dark isn’t there to dissolve our other colors,

or ruin our bodies

or our days;

it’s there out of fear.

Although protective,

these clouds are negative,

put there by toxicity in the external world,

because no clouds genuinely sourced

from inside of us

are ever dark.

None.

And when we close our eyes,

we can see the dark clouds

and just by looking at them,

they fade away.

Darkness only lives when it is hidden

and no one notices it

or shines a light on it.

All we have to do is acknowledge the dark cloud,

illuminate it,

and we can see our colors again,

forever living in harmony.

And when your inner world is gray

and you can’t tell if a cloud is dark or colorful,

see if the cloud wants you to do things out of fear

or out of joy.

See if the cloud is dancing.

When life is gray,

stay with the clouds

that are dancing.
