I shouldn’t be allowed to think like this.

I shouldn’t be allowed to be moving my fingers on this phone,

this technology that probably shouldn’t have even been created,

and writing down thoughts

of desire, control, expectations, and worries

that most living species have never had the capacity

to think before.

We’re the only ones.

Humans.

All these thoughts are unprecedented.

We aren’t meant to have this much power.

So what if we didn’t?

What if we relinquished all of our power?

All the power of the mind

and it’s innovation?

The little thinking worlds in our heads

make us forget about world we already live in

and all the other little heads

living in it too.

So what if we just stopped trying to be human

and were just human?

Not thoughtless,

not changeless,

but just accepting of what we are

and resistant to the desire to be anything more?
