Has individualism made is anti-relationships?
Has the idea that we don’t need anyone but ourselves
implanted some idea that we are all better off alone?
When in fact we are missing the whole point of life?
We all are supposed to have other people.
We are supposed to lean on others.
We need others.
True, in today’s society, with enough economic support, we can live by ourselves,
but are we supposed to?
We are social beings.
We are not meant to be better alone.
We may hear this popular idea that others only bring us down,
and we may want to protect ourselves from people who may “take” from us.
But that is said by those who are living in fear
and not in their true selves.
Our young selves and our old selves say different.
We cannot control other people so we push them away
to try to control everything.
But a messy life with others is so much better than an empty life with no one.
A messy kitchen is a sign that a delicious, heart felt meal was made.
A kitchen full of spices, leftovers, and stains
is a kitchen full of care and love.
I want a messy kitchen.
