Our minds may drift off
and imagine, fantasize,
and leave us behind.
But that’s our creativity.
That’s where our newness happens,
our growth,
our rebirth.
We need our minds to leave our bodies
to wander
and explore
and learn.
This is not a flaw.
It is not bad of you to have a wanderous mind.
What is troublesome is when we get lost in our minds.
When the mind loses its way home.
In the fog of our delusion, fantasy, & imagination,
in the haze of thoughts, judgement, &drama,
we can get lost.
When our minds wander,
instead of going into the haze alone,
we must remember to tether ourselves.
Tie your mind to the trunk of a tree
that lives in the deepest part of you
and hold onto it
as you explore.
Now, you can explore as far as you want,
as much as you want.
You can frolic and dance and play
in the mysterious and wonders of your imagination
and create and explore and try new things
because you have your tether
back home
every night.
Freedom is only freeing
if fear is absent.
Your mind doesn’t have to be a place you run away from.
It can be home.
It can be the most comforting place in the world.
Spend your days tending to your tree,
tying your rope tighter,
weaving your rope to be stronger, thicker,
and leaving it.
There is so much fun to be had.
