Evolution Just Wants To Play

What made the first organisms come out of the water onto land?
Curiosity. Play. Exploration.
What made the first organisms grow legs and eyes?
Curiosity. Play. Exploration.
Today, we think of play as frivolous.
Unnecessary.
When actually, it’s everything.
It’s the foundation of life.
It’s what got us here.
It’s the connection between us, life, and the universe.
Play is everything.
How can we bring more play into our lives?
Well, the question then becomes:
what would bring us joy?
I’m sure it was so fucking hard for that first organism to crawl out of the water,
but they followed what was calling to them.
They followed their excitement.
These yearnings can be big changes for us, like moving to a new country or deciding to have children.
They can be small, like a nice cooked meal or daily affirmations.
Either way, when you are yearning to play, play.
Let go of where you are, what you are supposed to be doing, your to-do list, and what people would think.
Play is what got us here, after millions and million of years of evolution.
All evolution has ever been is simply
play.
