Rationality: Home of The Mind or The Heart?

Many of us in modern, Western society

like to say that our feelings are irrational.

They are illogical, unreasonable, foolish…

When, in fact, our feelings are not irrational at all.

They’re probably our best source for the most rational advice ever to exist.

We have been using our feelings for decades, centuries, even millennia to help determine the best decisions for ourselves.

Our feelings help us determine what would make us survive, reproduce, happy, etc…

If we chose something wrong, that literal genetic code would not be passed down to the next generation.

So actually, rather than our feelings being the most untrustworthy and irrational thing in the world,

they in fact contain the wisdom of thousands of centuries.

We all should trust our perceptions.

We are innately wise.

The mind learns patterns from today’s existence,

while feelings have learned patterns from thousands of years.

Western society prioritizes the rational

and thinks the mind is the home of rationality

when in fact, our feelings are the most credible and trust worthy sources of information to ever exist.

So which one would you rather listen to?

Your mind?

Or your heart?
